Hospital in Italy chooses solid biomass boiler to heat the premises

In Italy, the hospitals in Borgo Val di Taro chooses solid biomass boilers to heat the premises

ECONOMIC BENEFITS...

Not only companies, pools and nurseries, but also hospitals. The use range of solid biomass boilers is growing up even more: plants that will save about 50 percent of fuels compared to using others with a payback just in 5-6 years. Not only.

ENVIRONMENT BENEFITS

When we speak about public respect the environment is a must and biomass burning emissions of CO2 means to save the environment and highly polluting dust.

ITALY: HOSPITAL OF SANTA MARIA DI BORGO VAL TARO

Is the first medical facility in Emilia Romagna to have chosen a biomass plant, an example of integrated land redevelopment which saw the synergistic collaboration of the Province, of Municipal Administration, Consortiums and AUSL.

THE BIOMASS BOILER

Uniconfort installed a Global boiler model with inclined mobile grill, with 6 bar working pressure at 150 ° C fueled by wood chips. Currently it is only used to produce heat, but later with the addition of accessories that will enable the system to work at a higher pressure, will also produce electricity.

ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED

An hospital should steady heating always guarantee. The safe, efficient and continuous running is always secure from the remote assistance provided by Uniconfort using software that allow to keep the boilers remotely monitored.

WOODCHIPS

The raw material of wood, comes from forest located within a radius of 15 km from the plant. The value of substitution of fossil fuel in 20 years, amounts about to 2 millions: in 20 years 1,1 millions are dumped in the primary local economy.

EMISSIONS

The plant is managed by an electronic system that optimizes combustion and reduces emissions. Controlling the emissions by competent persons was detected a total dust value of 39 mg/Nm3, one/third less than the legal limit (100mg/ Nm3, Dlgs 152/2006). This boiler simply ejects an amount of powder totally equal to the emission from 10 traditional wood stoves.

CO2 IS AVOIDED

The wood-chips boiler of Santa Maria Hospital contributes to reduce annually about 360 tones of CO2-eq (7200 t in 20 years), how 100 cars emit driving 26000 km per year.
