Farm and greenhouses heated with vine shoots
RECOVERY OF WASTES
Vine shoots are used to heat a farm and two greenhouses. This is what Uniconfort has achieved in Rauscedo, in the province of Pordenone, for VCR (Vivai Cooperativi Rauscedo), the most important nursery-wine farm of the world, which replaced the oil facility and has opted with solid biomass fuel. A choice that has led to a saving of 60,000 Euro and has prevented the emission of 403 tons of CO2 per year.
THE PLANT
Uniconfort has installed a Global 60 boiler, fed with wood chips from shredded vine shoots obtained from production wastes and grape vines, with a humidity content of 40 - 50%. The plant heats two greenhouses and company premises, for a total of 8,900 cubic meters delivering 840 MWh per year.
THE INVESTMENT
The company has invested 250 thousand Euro for the construction of the plant, partly financed by the Regional Rural Development Plan of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
